Local Girl Scout Partners with 3SGF on Gold Award Project
“Make the world a better place”, this is a line from the Girl Scout law that means so much to Girl Scouts around the world. As a part of this incredible organization, Allyson Jolly, a rising junior at Ponderosa High School, has been a Girl Scout since kindergarten. Always active in community service through scouting, Key Club, Warm Winters, and FFA her Girl Scout Gold Award project is the most impactful opportunity she has had to date. The Girl Scout Gold Award is equivalent to the Boy Scout Eagle Award with prerequisites and culminating in a lasting and self-sustaining act of community service that must total at least 80 hours of work. These projects provide girls with many life skills such as communication, financing, and planning.

3SGF’s PROTECT Prevention Education Program Has Successful Rollout, Vetted by Utah State Board of Education
PROTECT Prevention Education, a program co-founded by El Dorado Hills-based 3Strands Global Foundation (3SGF) and partners, Love Never Fails and Frederick Douglass Family Initiatives was vetted and approved by the full Board of Education for the state of Utah and has now launched its official rollout in Utah schools.

3SGF Awarded Texas Grant to Prevent HT - The PROTECT Program Will Launch in Texas
3Strands Global Foundation (3SGF), an El Dorado Hills-based non-profit that mobilizes communities to combat human trafficking through prevention education and reintegration, was awarded a grant by the state of Texas to deliver prevention education to the two largest school districts in the state.

Hastings and Buchanan Introduce Bipartisan Bill to Prevent Youth Human Trafficking and Exploitation
SEPTEMBER 18, Representatives Alcee L. Hastings (D-FL) and Vern Buchanan (R-FL) introduced the bipartisan Human Trafficking and Exploitation Prevention Training Act of 2019, legislation which would help prevent the human trafficking and exploitation of children by providing grants for training students, teachers, and school personnel to understand, recognize, prevent, and respond to signs of human trafficking. Joining Hastings and Buchanan as original cosponsors are Representatives Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) and Greg Steube (R-FL)

President Signs Frederick Douglass Act Into Law Underscores the Importance of HT Prevention
Today, President Trump signed the Frederick Douglass Trafficking Victims Prevention and Protection Reauthorization Act. This bill is the fifth reauthorization of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 with previous versions passed in 2003, 2005, 2008 and 2013. The Frederick Douglass Act, however, is the first to highlight the increasing relevance of prevention in the fight to end human trafficking by including the strategy within the legislation’s title.

Greater Sacramento New Car Dealers Association Raise funds to Combat HT
The Greater Sacramento New Car Dealers Association announced their support in the fight against human trafficking with a donation of over $44,000.00 to 3Strands Global Foundation (3SGF), a Sacramento-based non-profit combatting human trafficking through prevention. 3SGF has been combatting human trafficking since 2010 and will use the funds to continue their missional focus of educating students and teachers on human trafficking and reintegrating survivors and those at-risk. This announcement comes on the heels of the TIP report announcement from Washington D.C. which still identifies California to have the highest number of incidents of human trafficking in the nation.

Attorney General Becerra Joins Civic Leaders, Supports HT Education & Training In Schools
California Attorney General Xavier Becerra today joined Assemblymember Rob Bonta (D-Oakland), Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg, and representatives from the California Department of Education, California Department of Social Services, California Teachers Association, and 3Strands Global Foundation to announce the implementation of Assembly Bill 1227, the Human Trafficking Prevention Education and Training Act (AB 1227).
